Statement: I have noticed these red buoys many times when out on the Great Lakes. Though they are just a simple floating device, I wanted to portray in this painting how important buoys are to boating and shipping around the world. They warn of shallow waters, direct to shipping lanes and help you find your way in rough waters. Normally just an object we take for granted.
