Bio

Personally growing up on the Saginaw Bay has had a large impact on the way I view life. I’m very familiar with the catamaran in the foreground. I know what it looks and feels like to be flying a hull, and what the water and wind are doing around you. I thought of the personality of the sailors and how a big part of it is relying on each other, on a large sailing vessel, a group effort for exploration. It can also be a very solitary experience, just you, the boat, wind, and water. I used wood because the boats were originally made of wood. The sails are assembled out of playing cards and alcohol labels. Cards and drink relate to the sailors They played cards the pass the time, but you couldn’t drink the water around you.
